How I approach a project
Before I recommend software, I need to understand what is actually happening inside the business.
Not what the manual says — what the people doing the work actually do, where it breaks, and what management cannot see. Once that is clear, Nexgen designs the platform around it.
The commercial model
How a Nexgen platform is paid for and owned.
The terms are straightforward and I would rather you knew them before we talk than discovered them in a proposal.
Upfront development fee
The bespoke build is quoted as a single upfront fee, agreed in writing after discovery.
Monthly hosting, maintenance and fixes
Once live, a monthly fee covers hosting, maintenance and fixes so the platform keeps working as your business changes.
New development quoted separately
New features and major changes are scoped and quoted as additional development unless the agreement already includes them.
No pricing before discovery
Cost depends on scope, users, workflows, integrations and complexity. Nexgen provides a written quotation after discovery, never a package price.
Nexgen owns and hosts the software
Nexgen retains ownership of the underlying software and hosts the platform. You receive access to a platform built and branded specifically for your operation, on terms documented in the agreement.
Your branding, a small Nexgen credit
The platform carries your business name, logo, colours, domain and terminology, with a restrained “Powered by Nexgen” credit.
What I need from you
Access to the people who do the work.
The platform is only as good as my understanding of your operation. Discovery goes quickly when I can speak to the team, see the current systems and look at real examples of the work — the exceptions as much as the normal cases.
- A decision-maker who can confirm scope and sign off the proposal
- Time with the staff who run the process day to day
- Access to the current systems, spreadsheets and documents
- Honest examples of where the process breaks today
Start here
Tell me what your current software is not doing.
Explain how your business operates, what systems you currently use and where the process is breaking down. I’ll review the requirement and tell you whether Nexgen should build a bespoke platform, improve one part of the operation or recommend an existing solution.
